Breakfast with Daddy

Today Jeremy had an orthodontic appointment so he got to sleep in a little and see us before work. He's usually gone by 6:30 and we don't wake up until 7:00. Since we won't see him tonight (he's got class) it was nice to have breakfast and bible study together.

Bailey makes me laugh. She's really a lot more like Jeremy's personality than mine, but every now and again she'll do something that shows me too. For breakfast we had sausage and egg biscuits. Well Bailey has decided recently that she doesn't like her food mixed, so I sort all of it into little piles and make sure none of it is touching. That was so me as a kid. My parents used to serve us mixed vegetables (which I still find gross) and I would get so upset. I would sit there until they were completely cold hoping that if I just sat there long enough they'd feel sorry and let me up - no such luck. Finally I would sort it all into piles, pinch my nose, and try to suck it down with a drink. After many long nights and vomiting they realized that I would actually eat vegetables as long as they weren't mixed (but still never green beans), so we ventured out to canned peas, carrots and lima beans. Really how did they not know that there's nothing nutritional in a canned vegetable anyway!

I remember an age when I didn't like any of my foods to touch. I totally freaked if the juice from one ran to another. I've often wondered if that's the thinking behind the school cafeteria plates with partitioned sections. ;-)
