Summer Reading

Each summer I choose a book series to read with the kids. For Riley we picked the Harry Potter series and for Bailey Nancy Drew. Riley doesn't like me reading to him any more, so we're each reading it individually then discussing it together. Here we are reading the first book: The Sorceror's Stone. We got the book on Thursday, he started reading Friday and he is currently reading the final chapter. I have a little catching up to do, but I think I can be done by tomorrow. I'm sure we'll easily be able to finish the entire series before school starts.

I'm with you Bailey.

Jill and Riley, do you feel the Harry Potter books are as good as everyone seems to think? They are very popular. I'd like to hear your opinions.

Bailey, I'm right with you on the entire issue of reading fast, your Uncle Justin is the same way and it drives me crazy. It takes him less than a day to read one Harry Potter book, but it takes me about 3 weeks or so. Enjoy Nancy Drew and let me know who it is, I have never read one of those books. And Jill, you are going to love Harry Potter, Justin has made me read all of them and they are great. That means a lot coming from me since I really don't like to just sit and read!
